We witnessed a silent lightning storm in our backyard which is often called a heat lightning storm. This storm snuck up on us on evening when I went to the kitchen for a glass of water and witnessed flashes of light outside and on our walls indoors. In this video you can see exactly what we saw. I tried to capture the sense of it surrounding us but the in-person event was spectacular.
